Danny Mendez

  Danny Mendez has been in love with Amazon tree boas ever since he was 
a teenager living with his very understanding mom in their small 
apartment in the most populated city in NJ.   It was there that he 
discovered keeping tree boas was a better alternative to the bustling 
streets below and Urban Jungles was born.   Fifteen years later he's 
moved out of the city but his love for treeboas and UrbanJungles.com 
remains strong.  As a professional zoologist, Danny has worked closely 
with several of the world's most beautiful animals and nothing has 
ever lured him away from his passion for Corallus.  Danny was the past 
president of the New Jersey Herpetological Society and was a zookeeper 
at the Bronx Zoo.  He currently works as a biologist overseeing the 
care of over 150 different aquatic & terrestrial species belonging to 
a local public zoological collection.

  Although tree boas are his love and passion they are second only to 
his beautiful wife and son who have always supported his every 
endeavor and share in the appreciation for these Amazing snakes. Danny 
lives with his family nestled deep in the wilderness of Central NJ 
with their dogs (and other creatures) and likes to to travel and 
photograph wildlife as well as tree boas.
